Standard Steel Beam Dimensions
When ordering structural steel, whether it’s for a new build, a renovation, or seismic strengthening, remember to always confirm your standard steel beam dimensions before the steel beams are delivered to your door.
This is because what they call the beam, is not the same as its exact sizing. For example, a 360 UB 44 weighs 44.7kg, is 352mm high and 171mm wide. Such a small difference is enough to bring a grown man to tears when you get them on site and try to install in precise fit locations!
It’s important to confirm the size of the steel beams that you need, and the actual dimensions of the steel that you are ordering , prior to building the final resting place for your beams.
