Chris Molenaar

Hailing from Wairarapa, Chris founded Petone Engineering as a two man operation back in 2004. Under his helm, Petone Engineering has grown to become one of the countries most respected structural steel and seismic strengthening companies. He has vast technical experience in all facets of operation, from steel fabrication and steel erection, project management to estimating and contract management. With such a commendable background, Chris makes the ideal person to discuss your project with as he will understand every aspect of it, from start to finish.
Kieran Houssenloge

Kieran started off his career at Petone Engineering as a fabricator before quickly moving into supervisory roles. He has since become a qualified welding inspector and as a Project Manager, he is now responsible workshop scheduling and welding quality assurance.
Kieran’s 10 years of experience in the structural steel industry not only makes him an important asset to have in our team, he is crucial to you, as a client, in receiving the end product that exactly meets your specification.
Rochelle Guy

With over 10 years of experience in the construction industry, Rochelle is our dedicated Quantity Surveyor.
With projects increasing in both scale and complexity, Rochelle’s contribution is critical to both ourselves and our clients with her ability to scope and cost jobs accurately.
Parit Patel

Joining our team from Auckland in 2021, Parit is responsible for the detailing side of our operation. This involves creating all relevant drawings the team can work on starting from the workshop till erection of steel on site. Parit holds a Diploma in Engineering (Civil), with over 5 years experience.
He is also in charge of modelling the steel structures from design drawings using specialised software.
Wouter van Heerden

Wouter brings over a decade of experience to Petone Engineering working in the industry since 2007. Since assuming the role of Head of Operations & Programming in June 2023, Wouter plays a key role in delivering the company's core functions and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
In his current capacity, Wouter oversees the Leadership and Management of the Operations Function, a multifaceted department encompassing Detailing, Project and Site Management, Production, Logistics, Asset Management, and Health and Safety. His responsibilities extend to the development of high-level programs, ensuring the timely and budget-conscious completion of Petone Engineering projects.
Hayden Dick

With engineering in the family, Hayden brings a unique blend of heritage and hands-on experience to his role as Project Manager at Petone Engineering. Growing up in an engineering household, Hayden completed his first weld tickets at the age of 14! Hayden has continued his journey in the industry which now spans 15 years across many roles but has been with Petone Engineering for just over 6 months now.
Currently Hayden manages multiple projects throughout the Wellington region making sure that the day to day execution is done accurately, on-time and on-budget. These day to day responsibilities range from management of resources, ensuring that safety is at its highest standard and ensuring the quality of work is meeting the customers expectations.
