Estimating
Our steel estimator uses the Tekla software package for developing accurate and reliable estimates of all the quantities and different types of steel that will be required on each construction project that we bid on.
Once we have won a job they also handling the ordering of all the steel, and keep an eye on the financial status of each project as they progress.
This is a crucial role, particularly in recent years with ongoing price increases and supply issues for most structural steel in New Zealand.
Detailing
Our team of detailers are responsible for turning the plans that we get from a projects structural engineer into all the drawings that our workshop needs to fabricate and install the job.
We use the Tekla CAD system to draw every frame, beam and connection that is needed in detail. From this, we produce:
Bill of materials, a list of all steel components needed for the project and their specifications.
Anchor bolt drawings detailing all fixings
Shop drawings for our fabricators in the workshop
Erection drawing that our installation team uses on site.
Our detailers also play a crucial role in helping our project managers keep jobs on time and budget.
