Congratulations to our Production Manager Kieran Houssenloge

Congratulations to our Production Manager Kieran Houssenloge, who has won the SCNZ Young Achiever of the Year 2020 award.

For a bit of background SCNZ says: 

‘The award celebrates excellence amongst outstanding employees in the structural steel industry, whose skills, drive, and willingness to learn and work hard, have helped them to achieve exceptional outcomes. Importantly, it recognises well-rounded employees who demonstrate not only talent and a great attitude, but also display traits important to our industry – commitment, innovation and agility.’ 

The judges also said there were impressed with the high calibre of the candidates for the award this year, which makes Kieran’s win even more impressive. 

In case you are wondering exactly what a Production Manger does, it’s a fairly key role when it comes to a structural steel business like Petone Engineering.

Currently Kieran’s roles include ensuring that all the steelwork we are fabricating is up to the high quality control standards demanded in our industry, and is ready in time to meet our clients deadlines.

He also handles steel procurement, some of the training for apprentices, scheduling painting and transportation of finished steel frames, and making sure that all the machinery in the factory is working as it should.
